Rob Roy

This one speaks to my musical roots as it was developed in honour of the opening of the play by the same name. It made its debut at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan in 1894 and, although it may have encountered some small variations, the basic ingredients of whisky and vermouth have stayed center stage. Have fun with this one. Heck why not smoke one?

Rusty Nail

We can thank the Rat Pack for this drink's popularity. Had they not discovered it (rediscovered it?) in the sixties, it might have stayed in obscurity after a brief stint in the late thirties. A scotch and Drambuie combo, this is a great intro to the world of scotch which many claim is an acquired taste - while others are diehard fans. This one hits the happy medium button.

The Godfather

Its history might be a little nebulous, but there's no denying that once you thought you were out, it'll pull you back in. Modern folklore tell us that this was Marlon Brando's favourite cocktail. Whatever story you buy into, this is a classic that is sure to please at your next gathering.
